Training 
​Key for me in my career has been my belief that Equality and Equity should be the golden thread that runs through all our actions and interactions with other people whether they be in the world of work or our personal life.

As a child I came across Charles Kingsley’s ‘The Water Babies’ and the character of Mrs-Do-As-You-Would-Be-Done-By. This character has stuck with me along with the belief that you should treat people as you would like to be treated, and expect to receive the same treatment back.  This is not just a nice adage for a happy life but has a fundamental value for the world of work, where building relationships, helping others to achieve and doing it with positivity and joy is sound business sense. After all unhappy staff don't contribute as much as happy ones. 

​And so I don't know about you but I would rather encourage a 
Mrs-Do-As-You-Would-Be-Done-By approach rather than that of her sister, Mrs Be-Done-By-As-You-Did who definitely was ‘gnarly and horny and scaly and prickly’.
