the not so interesting but necessary stuff

The General Data Protection Regulations update Data Protection rules already in existence. The new regulations effective from 25 May 2018 require that personal data should be:
  • Processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner
  • Collected for specific and explicit purposes
  • Adequate, relevant and limited to those purposes
  • Accurate and kept up-to-date
  • Kept for no longer than necessary
  • Processed in a way that ensures security of data

The only personal data that I will hold with regard to coaching will be the name, address (where relevant) contact information (email, phone) dates of coaching sessions and payment arrangements of the client.

During the course of the coaching programme I make notes of the coaching session so that we can refer to them when necessary during the course of the coaching. Once the coaching has been completed and outstanding payment made these records will be cleansed to remove identifying data and given a client number. This will be retained for a year (as evidence of my coaching for The Association for Coaching) but then destroyed entirely after 12 months.

The organisational data that I will hold will be the name, address, contact information (email, phone) dates of agreed ad hoc HR work, training programmes and payment arrangements of the client. Personal data with regard to course attendees will not be held.

In any event I will seek permission from the client to hold their data and will keep a record of the date of agreement. Clients are free to change their data preferences at any time.

I am registered with the Information Commission registration number A8261214. A full copy of my GDPR Policy and Privacy can be obtained by emailing me on the getting in touch page.

If you have any further queries about this please do not hesitate to ask.
