I was asked recently what a prospective client would want to know about me when considering a working relationship.
When I work with an organisation on a consultancy basis they are tapping into my extensive experience to achieve an outcome, promote growth and enhance success. So whether that be a change management programme, discrete topic training or management development and coaching, what they get is more than 35 years experience gained across a broad range of sectors, skills and knowledge. This has been gathered in the real world where nothing is predictable or tidy and where the drive for excellence, whatever that might be, is paramount.
My career has spanned three recessions, a massive change in employment law and practice and an increase in management methods/models/trends. I have worked in the Private Sector from Retail to software to Law, the Public Sector, Police and Local Government and the Third Sector and whilst they are very different areas and cultures, they all have one asset in common - People. Additionally despite their differences none of these sectors/employers set out to be the worst that they can be!
My approach to any consultancy brief its to get to the nub of what is required, carrying out detailed assessment and diagnostics, finding out what the barriers might be, where skills could be enhanced, whether there is effective communication - and I could go on. Post the work I would carry out an evaluation against pre-agreed measures, and finally another one at either 3 or 6 months.
From the feedback I get I know am a strong communicator, mediator, Coach and problem solver with the ability to build effective relationships to find and support the delivery of innovative business focused solutions. Some of the things that have been said of me are:
"Karen has a clear and astute approach"
"I have had unsolicited feedback from a number of her clients in respect of her invaluable support"
"Karen is professional and organised and delivers what has been agreed"
"Karen takes the initiative and will apply a creative and holistic approach when this is warranted"
